Business Equity Alliance is guided by a founder who has spent his career inside corporate procurement and a board committed to economic equity for diverse businesses.
An operator, not an advocate — Ed Simon spent 23 years on the corporate side of the procurement table, and now works the other side of it.
With over 23 years of experience in the water utilities sector and a proven track record in supplier inclusion and operational excellence, Edward A. Simon II founded Business Equity Alliance to create lasting pathways to economic equity for diverse entrepreneurs.
Edward currently serves as Co-President of the San Diego Equality Business Association (SDEBA), University of San Diego Alumni Association VP of Inclusion Excellence, and CEO/Founder of EA Simon Company. He has worked in partnership with Veterans in Business to enhance its B.R.A.V.O. Mentorship Program, which pairs veteran-owned businesses with corporate mentors from companies like American Honda, Amgen, and Southern California Edison. He also chairs the Commission on Christian Social Action at Bethel AME Church San Diego, leading literacy initiatives in Southeast San Diego schools.
Through his consulting firm EA Simon Company, Edward has developed supplier inclusion programs for major California utilities and public agencies, helping hundreds of diverse businesses gain access to corporate contracting opportunities. His leadership has been recognized with honors including SDEBA's LGBTQ Leaders Award and the Veterans in Business Network Leadership Award.
Edward holds a Master of Science in Executive Leadership from the University of San Diego and serves on the USD Alumni Board as Inclusive Excellence Vice President. His passion for community economic development, combined with his deep corporate relationships and technical expertise, positions BEA as a unique and powerful force for business equity across the United States.
